Electronics, Porn and Chocolate!

Where was I last weekend?  Celebrating a world of fun in Sin City.  My good friend that I have known since childhood was working the Alpine booth at CES in Vegas and invited us to come visit him at the show.  Pass this up?  Not a chance!  So a high school friend of mine and I jumped in the car and headed to the bright lights of Vegas for a weekend of fun and frolic. 

Of course, chocolate was on the list of things to do.  Along with porn.  Wait…what?  Well, most everyone knows that CES coincides with the AVN AEE (Adult Entertainment Expo) and the AVN Adult Movie Awards.  My cup runneth over.

We woke on Saturday and hit Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill for a fantastic lunch.  I couldn’t eat it everyday, but it was yummy.  Then we went over to the Bellagio and saw the world record 27` chocolate fountain at Jean Phillipe Patisserie where they sell crepes, gelato, truffles and cakes along with other items.  I hear the crepes are good, but we were so full from lunch we didn’t have the room to try them!  The chocolate was decent –> creamy, smooth.  We didn’t like the flavor of either dark truffle we selected:  pistachio and raspberry.  Overall:  didn’t like the truffles.

Oh well!  We tried to make it to the AEE, but arrived late.  So we went out to meet friends at the Hofbrauhaus.  We got their great German beer and Jagerschnitzel, but were not prepared for a special appearance by The Hoff!  Yes, the Hoffmeister came to sing to the drunken crowd.  Outstanding!

Then we found out another friend was having his bachelor party in Vegas that night so we went to the Mandalay Bay to crash the party .  While we were in the hallway of the hotel, the AVN Adult Movie Award attendees were coming out of the show.  I danced with them to persuade them to come to the bachelor party –> no takers.  Sorry!  I tried!

On Sunday we went to CES and checked out the wonderful array of electronics being brought out by all the big companies and got home just as the sun was going down.
